Infinitec’s ‘infinite’ USB memory drive delayed until August, shown streaming to Xbox 360 (video)
Written by Admin on June 29, 2010 – 8:30 am -If you’ve always wanted a D&D-style bag of holding, we’re thinking Infinitec’s IUM is as close as you’re going to get, looking like a plain ‘ol USB thumb drive but actually storing an infinite amount of, well, stuff. However, you’re going to have to wait a little longer to reach into this magic satchel, with the unit’s ship date being delayed until the end of August. The price is still the same, at $129, and the company was kind enough to create a video just for you that shows how it all works. It’s embedded below, but if you’re looking for the Cliff’s Notes it shows pairing the thumb drive to a computer, installing some hosting software, and then streaming the Avatar trailer from a laptop to an Xbox 360 in HD with seemingly no lag nor dropped frames. Looks great, but will it work that well in the real world on a typical internet connection? We can’t wait to find out.

Fujifilm’s durable, dunkable FinePix XP10 compact camera gets a review
Written by Admin on June 26, 2010 – 10:30 pm -It’s always hard to justify spending extra for a waterproof camera that will do you good at the beach but deliver mediocre image quality everywhere else. Photography Blog has taken a look at Fujifilm’s new 12 megapixel FinePix XP10 waterproof shooter and, while it predictably falls short of DSLR-level quality (or even high-end compacts), it overall scores a very positive review thanks to its 5x zoom lens, 720p video recording, solid construction, and a “pleasingly compact” design that we think looks very funky (in a good way). The camera’s cause is also helped dramatically by an MSRP of £169.99, or $199.95, and we’re finding this thing available online for way less than that. For that kind of money this thing wouldn’t make a bad side-kick for your go-to camera, a sort of stunty stand-in for when the going gets tough… or perhaps just damp. Read more »

Written by Admin on June 26, 2010 – 8:30 am -We’re guessing that you may actually save even more space if you take the Mini-e from atop that stand and actually let it lay flat on your desk, but it sure looks cute, don’t it? eMachines latest, um, machine “looks more like modern art than a computer,” or at least that’s what we’re being told in the presser hosted up just past the break. The Mini-e ER1402 measures just 7.1 inches in diameter and weighs 9 pounds, and while it won’t handle the latest installment of Crysis, it should plow through those late night Hulu catch-up sessions with ease.
