Written by Admin on April 30, 2010 – 10:30 pm -You may find yourself holding onto an iPad 3G. You may find yourself not able to stream ABC player. You may tell yourself, I think I need to break some rules. You may ask yourself, will I be able to use the same Spirit software that jailbreaks my WiFi model? You may ask yourself, well, did I backup my SHSH blobs? Download still not yet available — time is holding us, time does hold you back. (There is video, at the bottom of the ocean after the break.) Microsoft weighs in: ‘the future of the web is HTML5′
Written by Admin on April 30, 2010 – 3:30 am -Where Steve Jobs leads, Microsoft follows — how’s that for shaking up the hornet’s nest? It’s said in jest, of course, but we’ve just come across a post from the General Manager for Internet Explorer, Dean Hachamovitch, and the perspective expressed by him on the subject of web content delivery broadly agrees with the essay penned by Jobs yesterday on the very same subject. Echoing the Apple CEO’s words, Hachamovitch describes HTML5 as “the future of the web,” praising it for allowing content to be played without the need for plug-ins and with native hardware acceleration (in both Windows 7 and Mac OS X). He goes on to identify H.264 as the best video codec for the job — so much so that it’ll be the only one supported in IE9’s HTML5 implementation — before turning to the dreaded subject of Flash.

Nokia C2 render spins QWERTY right round
Written by Admin on April 27, 2010 – 10:30 pm -Render plus logo does not a new phone make, but that didn’t keep us from admiring the ridiculous form factor on this supposed Nokia C2. While the ‘C’ label puts the device squarely in dumbphone territory and the only specs available (320 x 240 display, 2 megapixel camera) don’t belabor that point, split-horizontal keyboards have a special place in our heart, and we eagerly await their return. That said, Nokia better get cracking if they want to beat the MOTOSPLIT — the way we see it, they’re one whole leaked, possibly fake render behind the competition. Read more »
