Written by Admin on April 18, 2009 – 3:30 am -

If that all-black DualShock 3 controller has just grown stale, and you’re not about to drop any coinage to have Colorware liven things up, GameStop has a fantastic solution — so long as you’re a fan of silver, that is. As of today, the firm’s website has a clear listing for a satin silver version of the wireless SIXAXIS, and anyone familiar with the silver PS2 controller will no doubt notice the striking similarities. Just so you know, this one’s been available in the Japanese market for eight centuries now, but it looks like the North American crowd can finally yell “me too!” when parting with $54.99 on June 24th.

LEGO MP3 player: another brick in your kid’s wall of sound

Written by Admin on April 17, 2009 – 1:30 pm -

So this is pretty out of the ordinary looking. LEGO’s recently-announced MP3 player — produced through a partnership with Digital Blue — fits in nicely with the rest of the company’s kiddie gadget offerings, though we’ll admit that this is probably the first one we’re truly tempted to check out for ourselves. These bad boys have 2GB of storage, LCD displays, and unlimited attitude. It’s got that sweet brick shape that brings to mind memories of our olden days while staying on top of the latest tech that kids today demand… you know, MP3s of Miley Cyrus and stuff. Right? The MP3 players — in multi-color and pinkish (for girls) — will be available sometime this summer for $39.99

LG’s X110 netbook hits the FCC, insightful user manual in tow

Written by Admin on April 16, 2009 – 3:30 am -

LG’s X110 netbook has been floating about Europe since last year, but it is apparently still headed this way, and it’s now once step closer to availability now that it’s passed through the FCC. Not surprisingly, the netbook itself appears to remain unchanged, with it still packing the usual 10-inch display, an unspecified Intel Atom processor, up to 1GB of RAM, a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, built-in Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and, apparently, your choice of a three-cell or six-cell battery. One thing we hadn’t caught a glimpse of before, however, is the manual, which offers no shortage of insight into the proper use of a netbook, including reminders to not use it in a sauna or laundry room, to be aware of any potential foul odors, to not use the battery as a pet chew toy and, of course, to not leave any object closer than 15 centimeters from the computer. Head on past the break for just a brief sample of it (including a profound warning for any gamers out there), and hit up the link below for the rest of the FCC goods.

HTC Touch Diamond2 gets unboxed, shown off on video

Written by Admin on April 15, 2009 – 1:30 pm -

We haven’t heard much about the appearance of the HTC Touch Diamond2 on US shores apart from a few AT&T-related whispers, but the squared-off handset is starting to pop up overseas, and the requisite unboxings and video tours have started flooding in. Sadly, these early units are still running Windows Mobile 6.1, so beauty’s only skin deep — or at least as deep as TouchFlo2 3D. Microsoft ushers in spring with new Zune Originals designs

Written by Admin on April 14, 2009 – 10:30 pm -

How much Zune can you handle? It’s a question few have asked, and even fewer have answered. Microsoft seems to be unafraid of such conundrums, however, and it has now fearlessly introduced a new collection of Zune Originals designs in a day filled with Zune rumors. Each of the new designs, appropriately, feature a spring theme from artists APAK, Carolina Melis, and Linn Olofsdotter, and include options like a “tree-like design,” a “tapestry-like design,” and a giant Queen Bee for those that really want to stand out. Best of all, as with other similar Zune Originals collections, each of these are available at no extra charge, and are ready to be etched into your future Zune right now.
